Sixth Street is historic and the bloodline of Austin.  It is an entertainment hub comprising of several street blocks variety of mom and pop bars and restaurants and shops situated in downtown Austin.  And along with it's melting pot of college students, tourists and locals, it is distinctly Austin.  It is definitely the live music capital of Texas.  Similar to New Orlean's Mardi Gras, but with the Texas twist.

Year round.  Hours of operation varies by individual businesses.  

Admission fees: Public street so free, but mostly paid parking.
