A native of Vietnam, Darren Nguyen moved to the United States at the age of 15. Upon graduation in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Chef Nguyen decided to follow his heart and go into the restaurant industry. Chef Nguyen attended Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco, California and finished is education in 2006. With his great talents he landed his first job as Sous Chef at Nieman Marcus Restaurant in Palo Alto, California. Here he learned how flavor, technique, and ingredients worked together to create an American Cuisine. After one year he was hired on as the Executive Sous Chef at located in North Bay, California. There he created new recipes and managed the kitchen staff. In 2008, he relocated to Houston, Texas, where he joined Benjy's team as a Sous Chef. It was here that he learned the perfection of pairing unique flavors and ingredients. With all of his experience Chef Nguyen decided to venture out to launch his own restaurant in partner with his wife.
