Description
Nong Lá opened its doors in 2012, offering traditional dishes such as pho, bun, and bánh mì, with flavors reminiscent of the ones you find in homes and on the streets of Vietnam. They are dedicated to using the freshest ingredients including free-range chicken, cage-free eggs, and prime cuts of hormone-free beef. Most notably, they do not add MSG to their broths, resulting in a clean, light, and distinctly developed flavor in their pho. Siblings Elaine and Victor Phuong have always wanted to open a restaurant to honor their mother’s cooking. After experimenting with old family recipes and a lot of research, the Phuongs went all in, along other family members, to open Nong Lá, a restaurant that celebrates the food they grew up eating. They now have two locations; the original is found on Sawtelle Blvd. with their second shop located on La Brea Ave.
